California Content Standards

The state of California requires all Math 7 classes to teach specific concepts, which are called standards. These standards are taught in our classroom using a variety of methods.  If you are unfamiliar with them, read through the CA State Standards on the CDE Website. 

Course Syllabus

All policies are described within the contract.  Parents and students are asked to read carefully and sign it the first week of school, or on the first day they begin class upon entering Medea Creek Middle School.

Download and save a copy of the Algebra Syllabus to reference when needed.

School Supplies:

During the first week of school, teachers will provide students with a list of supplies that will be helpful to have in their classroom.  We received feedback in the past that by posting grade level lists, families were purchasing many unnecessary supplies.  Please communicate with your teachers if there are supplies that you need and are unable to purchase.  We are here to support all students.

Please use the link below to review OPUSD's math placement policies and differing math pathways (with opportunities for students to advance). These are not recommendations; they are placements based upon grades. If you're attending another high school, then you should check with that school about their placement process.
