California Distinguished School

Medea Creek Middle School (MCMS) has been officially recognized as a 2026 California Distinguished School. This prestigious award honors schools for their innovation and success in improving student outcomes. Specifically, MCMS was recognized for its efforts in closing the achievement gap for historically underserved student groups while maintaining academic excellence across the entire student body. This recognition is granted by the state based on school performance data and is not something schools apply for. The selection of MCMS highlights the hard work of its staff and leadership, as well as the strength of the entire school community.
